Service Description

Starting with a light pencil sketch on watercolor paper of a person, animal or still life, students will learn to depict light, shadow & form, work on color mixing & combining and end with a finished work of art. Students will make small samples in first session to get familiar with the handling of the tools & mediums. Scott will demonstrate brush work and students will duplicate his methods in their work. Each week students will learn new techniques and handling of the various brushes used to make a fine work of watercolor art. This class is taught by award-winning artist Scott Hanna whose work has been shown in the Smithsonian Institute, the Museum of Comic Art NYC, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art LA and the Cartoon Art Museum San Francisco. Bring to first class: drawing pencils, assorted round (soft-tip) watercolor brushes, any type/brand of watercolor paints, watercolor paper or block, paint tray/palette.
