A very special Fashion camp! In this 4 week camp students will explore famous modern designers & get a close-up look at work by Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Comme des Garcons, Yves Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood from the collections of the instructor to understand their unique styles. Students will learn how they studied, started in business, got their “big breaks” and who was instrumental in aiding their success. Students will learn about standard fashion industry practices, show rooms, trade shows, trunk shows and other methods used to promote fashion brands. Then, armed with a good understanding of the designers, each student will create a promotional plan for a designer of their choice. This class is taught by fashion designer Pamela Ptak who makes custom garments for red carpet events & worked 12 seasons on designer collections for the Paris Haute Couture and NY Fashion Week.
