Service Description
In this 6 week class you will learn to sew using home sewing machines, plan a great sewing project, select & prepare fabrics, and create wonderful garments or accessories. Students will learn a wide variety of skills, gain experience with a number of sewing tools, and discover the joy of creating original clothing! Come to the first class prepared to dive into fashion. You'll start with a look at commercial patterns and a tour of Pamela's fabric room to understand textiles & jump start your creativity. You'll take your measurements to determine size & plan your first project so you can shop for your supplies during the following week. In later weeks, you will pin & cut your fit muslin or your original design. This class is a great choice for both beginners as well as intermediate sewers wishing for more experience with their design projects. (Intermediate sewers are not required to do beginner practice samples if their skill level is beyond that.) SEWING MACHINES ARE AVAILABLE IN CLASS, however you may bring your own portable to second class if you prefer. Bring to first class: All students should bring a notebook to first class. All other supplies for first class are provided by instructor. Students MAY bring a current or new sewing project, sewing supplies & tools. Students may be added to class roster on first class day or after with instructor permission. This class meets at the designer's studio - 595 Summit Lane, Riegelsville PA 18077
