Service Description

Have fun designing garments as you sample 4 critical skills in fashion design... sketching an original style, draping with muslin on a 3D dress form, flat pattern making, and sewing. During this 6 week fashion design sampler students will become familiar with these processes as they begin to create an original garment pattern & start their first “fit muslin.” Bring to first class: no. 2 pencils, basic sketch pad, sharp scissors. Required purchases: Several yards of pattern paper & muslin will be required for most garment designs. If you do not have pattern paper or muslin, you may purchase these supplies from the instructor week 2 or purchase them yourself between class 1 & 2. INSTRUCTOR'S DRAFTING TOOLS & SEWING MACHINES ARE PROVIDED FOR USE IN CLASS. Students do not need to purchase drafting tools of their own unless they wish to work on their projects at home.
