Haute Couture: Flowers & Petals

Service Description

1 day workshop: Discover the delights of a Haute Couture fashion design workroom as you try some incredible 3-dimentional art forms used by fashion designers! In this workshop, you'll work with needle & thread to make samples of a number of floral embellishments from a variety of fine silk fabrics, beads, sequins, etc. You may also work on sample size dress forms to develop your dress application of the floral motifs. Instructor will demonstrate how a dramatic floral motif is planned on a garment during it's draping or pattern making design stages. This class is taught by fashion designer Pamela Ptak who makes custom garments for red carpet events & worked 12 seasons on designer collections for the Paris Haute Couture and NY Fashion Week. Bring to class: Bring a notebook & pencils, needle & threads, fabric scissors, fine tipped scissors, 1 yd silk taffeta, 1 yd of silk chiffon, 1 yd of silk organza - any color.
