Service Description
This graduate-level class in Corseted Eveningwear runs 3 weeks longer than my equivalent class which I offered at Drexel U. This gives students ample time to learn even more than previously available. "Haute Couture Corseted Eveningwear" requires advanced levels of draping, pattern making, machine and fine hand sewing. Focusing on evening wear with visible corsetry, hidden foundation layers and corselettes (some call them French linings), students sketch garments & create one ensemble in 13 weeks using only haute couture techniques, intense draping, pattern making & couture hand finishing work. This class includes draping demos of rare techniques, explanations & demos of complicated sewing samples. Pamela's previous Haute Couture Corseted Eveningwear graduate students have won some of the most prestigious fashion awards in the world! This class is taught by fashion designer Pamela Ptak, who makes custom garments for red carpet events & worked for 12 seasons on designer collections for the Paris Haute Couture and New York Fashion Week. Class Dates: This 13 week class includes several skipped weekends throughout the semester for larger homework assignments. Bring to first class: notebook & no. 2 pencils, sharp scissors. Most tools & supplies needed for this class are already in your collection, however any additional you need may be purchased in class or ordered online between class 1 & 2.
