Haute Couture: Beautiful Bias Embellishment workshop

Service Description

Discover the delights of a Haute Couture fashion design workroom as you make stunning surfaces with bias fabrics! In this workshop, you'll hand cut textiles on the bias, pin and stitch them with needle & thread to make samples of a number of bias embellishments from a variety of fine silk fabrics. You may also work on mini dress forms to develop your own unique sculptural surfaces for dresses. This class is taught by fashion designer Pamela Ptak who makes custom garments for red carpet events & worked 12 seasons on designer collections for the Paris Haute Couture and NY Fashion Week. Bring to class: Bring a notebook & pencils, needle & threads, fabric scissors, fine tipped scissors, 1 yd silk taffeta, 1 yd silk organza, 1 yd silk chiffon - any color. Additional textiles and supplies will be available to purchase in class if you wish to try additional effects.
