Haute Couture: 3D Surfaces

Service Description

1day workshop: Discover the delights of a Haute Couture fashion design workroom as you try some incredible 3-dimentional art forms used by fashion designers! In this workshop, you'll work with needle & thread to make samples of a number of surface embellishments and textures from a variety of fine silk fabrics, beads, sequins, etc. You may also work on sample size dress forms to develop your own unique sculptural surfaces for dresses. This class is taught by fashion designer Pamela Ptak who makes custom garments for red carpet events & worked 12 seasons on designer collections for the Paris Haute Couture and NY Fashion Week. Bring to class: Bring a notebook & pencils, needle & threads, fabric scissors, fine tipped scissors, 1 yd silk taffeta, 1 yd silk organza, 1 yd silk chiffon - any color.
