Stretch your draping skills with knits! Draping in stretch knits utilizes an entirely different set of principals from draping with wovens. Working on dress forms with a variety of stretch knit textiles, students will learn how to achieve proper draped patterns for tops, dresses & skirts. You'll create your own original designs with knits of varying degrees of stretch. ALL draping & pattern making classes are appropriate for beginner through advanced designers. Instructor works with each individual independently. This class is taught by fashion designer Pamela Ptak who makes custom garments for red carpet events & worked 12 seasons on designer collections for the Paris Haute Couture and NY Fashion Week. Bring to first class: notebook, scissors, pins, 5-6 yds of a 4-way stretch fabric in any light, solid color, pencils for marking, drafting tools to true-in the original patterns you create.
